Pietra Viva (translated Living Stone in English) is a registered non-profit organization, 501(c) based in Kansas City, MO. The Foundation carries a name that evokes strength, resillience, and sacred purpose. Like stones that are not static, but alive with meaning and mission. It is rooted in the belief that enduring impact is built one act of love at a time. Pietra Viva Foundation, Inc seeks to be a cornerstone for transformation where every gift, every story, and every partnership becomes part of a living mosaic of HOPE.
Founded to honor lives shaped by generosity and faith, Pietra Viva Foundation supports initiatives that uplift communities through education, poverty-alleviation programs, and spiritual formation. I grew up in poverty. Not the kind that’s easy to forget, but the kind that teaches you how to make a little go a long way, whether it’s food, faith, or hope. Even in hardship, I was surrounded by love and faith by parents who believed in God and in the dignity of hard work and the power of prayer. Education became my lifeline. It opened doors I never imagined and gave me the tools to change my future.
My husband Jeff didn’t grow up in poverty, but he was shaped by something just as powerful: a deep, unwavering faith. His life has been a quiet testimony to service, humility, and generosity. When we met, we found in each other a shared calling, not just to live well, but to live with purpose.
Together, we founded Pietra Viva Foundation, the Living Stone, as a way to give back. It’s our offering to the world (our small world in Moalboal, Cebu), built on the belief that lives can be transformed through love, opportunity, and faith. We serve not because we have much, but because we understand what it means to need. And we give not to be seen, but to honor the legacy of those who gave before us. But most importantly, we serve because we are loved by God, experienced the grace and mercy offered by Jesus Christ, and want to follow His command to love others.
